Roland's band extends their quest to save the Tower which keeps all the worlds from the forces of evil into parallel worlds; Callahan, Jake, and Oy go to 1999 New York City to find Susannah and the demon possessing her, who has taken her there to have their baby, while Roland and Eddie go to 1977 Maine to meet Stephen King, whose books seem to reference much of their experience.
