- Three different versions have been published, 1st in Fantasy Magazine, Feb/Mar 1953 which was rewritten by L. Sprague de Camp and appeared under the title "Treasure of Tranicos"; the 2nd in Black Vulmea's Vengeance and Other Tales of Pirates from Donald M. Grant in 1976, rewritten by Howard as a non-Conan story under the title "Swords of the Red Brotherhood"; and 3rd, the original Conan story in Echoes of Valor, ed. Karl Edward Wagner, Tor 1987.
